Srinagar, August 01 (KNO): Strongly condemning the attack on senior resistance leader Shakeel Ahmad Bakshi, Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani Thursday said that whichever hands are used to carry out these cowardly acts, the mindset behind such planning is same which provokes people in the name of trivial issues to create more bloodshed in already blood soaked land. “Our cunning enemy tries to kill so many birds with one stone. On one hand pro-resistance people are harmed and on the other hand brain and mindset behind such actions escapes blame,” Geelani said in a statement issued to KNO. Geelani said that targeting those, fighting the oppression from their childhood, willingly choosing this torturous path and resisting every temptation to get them derailed, should be alarming for all of us. “Our enemy will be celebrating, how we are easily being used to harm each other,” he added. He said that “present grim and gloomy situation demands a collective and cohesive face to fight the ill designs of our oppressor.” He appealed people particularly youth to be focused and united to “give the enemy a befitting reply to its behind the veil conspiracies to tarnish this pious movement and if we fail to do so, our coming generations will not forgive us.” Meanwhile, in an extraordinary meeting of Hurriyat Conference a few days back, regarding the charges against its constituent Islamic Political Party was discussed threadbare. In the view of reports and witness of leaders of amalgam, basic membership of above said party was terminated from Hurriyat amalgam, which was conveyed to its chairman in written.(KNO)
